Digestive Enzymes Are Nutrients

Digestive enzymes are proteins that are made by our bodies to digest food and break down other nutrients. Digestive enzymes are necessary for the process of breaking down food. Without digestive enzymes, the body cannot properly digest the food you consume. With a proper amount of a blend of digestive enzymes, the digestive system doesn’t have to work as hard to turn the food you consume into nutrients and energy.

Different Kind of Digestive Enzymes:

Enzymes that work with animal products such as meat and dairy products, Enzymes that work with plant products like rice, corn, beans, nuts, and Enzymes that work with carbohydrates such as sugar. Depending on what type of enzyme you need, you may need a combination of at least two different classes of enzymes. Some enzymes that are used to break down certain foods and create other nutrients, however, cannot be found in plant products and must be derived from a process outside of the body called animal digesting.

Digestive enzymes affect the function and health of your intestines and the rest of the digestive tract. They are necessary for absorbing vitamins and minerals and acting as natural medicine. They also regulate the production of digestive hormones, keeping your stomach feeling satisfied and helping to keep you regular. Because the production of digestive enzymes is affected by diet, following a healthy diet will ensure that you have better digestion and a healthier digestive system.

Probiotic enzymes can also provide your body with digestive enzymes.

Probiotics also called “good bacteria”, are generally beneficial to the body’s overall health and help to maintain normal conditions within the gastrointestinal tract and improve your digestion. There are different types and strains of probiotics, most of which are available as supplements. Some of the more common probiotics found in supplements include FOS, Lactobacillus, Acidophilus, and Bifidus.

The main function of your pancreas is to secrete digestive enzymes.

When your pancreas is overstimulated or damaged, it causes your blood sugar levels to rise to cause high blood pressure and diabetes. If it is damaged and unable to secrete adequate amounts of insulin, the body treats all of the glucose found in your muscles and fat cells as if it were just ordinary sugar and does not metabolize it properly. This imbalance also leads to the accumulation of toxins in your tissues, resulting in excess weight, which is a common characteristic of people suffering from diabetes.

Another type of enzyme used throughout the digestive process is a protease. Enzymes that are produced by bacteria, fungi, and other organisms help to break down proteins. Common examples of proteases are lipase, sarcoglycan, and matrix Metallase. Although most of us never think about dairy products and their protein content, a large amount of protein can be derived from dairy products and the most abundant are casein, whey, and lactose.
